What a Dentist Does

A dentist is your go-to professional for overall oral health — from regular check-ups to fillings, extractions, and gum care. Dentists can also provide dentures, but the process is different:

• The dentist takes impressions, your bite, and the shade of your new teeth

• This information is sent to a dental laboratory, where the dentures are made

• Once the dentures are ready, your dentist inserts them and makes any necessary adjustments

Dentists can also treat any dental or gum conditions that need to be addressed before your dentures are made.
